Of course, my hesitance was the width of the boot shaft–like most people I believe–especially being I have little to no calf muscle. However, after reading some of the reviews, I figured I’d take the chance since it’s such an adorable boot in such a perfect color. I was not disappointed. Although it’s not a snug fit, the boot still looks slender enough and doesn’t feel like it will fall or slouch. I’ve actually worn them almost every day for the past two weeks, with skinny jeans, with a knee length dress and even under a long skirt. Not only are they comfortable, they are the ideal heel height and they can be worn casual as well as dressed up. I may be fooling myself but I feel like they might even make me look a little taller. (I’m about 5’4 and 128 lbs.) I’ve never written a review for anything perhaps because I’ve never felt this confident and pleased with my purchase. And I continue to get compliments wherever I go. Money well spent.
Beautifl fashion staple. I have very nice shapely legs and these boots actually fit. I am very pleased and am going to order my third pair. They are a little big on the ankles but for the great price I can deal with it

I disagree with other reviewers, I don’t think the boot leg is fitted to be wide at all– I have pretty normal sized calves, and this boot fits them snugly. True that there is a wide shaft…but I think it fits the style.
Beautifully constructed boot (I ordered the gray after falling in love at Bloomingdales)…it is true that the shaft is a bit wide, but I have very skinny legs, and I think that tucked into jeans, it looks very sophisticated. I think that the look is more casual, more urban…different than your average boot! I can see where some may disagree, but I am all smiles with this purchase.
I was concerned about the width of the shaft after reading other reviews, however, I am pleased with the way it looks. My legs are on the skinny side, so the shaft is a bit loose. The shaft is cut very straight and comes right to my knees and will probably start to slouch as the boots wear in, but I think that it’s part of the look. I love the way they look with skinny jeans tucked in or with tights! I also ordered a half-size larger since I often have a hard time with pull-on boots due to my high insteps, which I would recommend doing if you have the same problem. The sale price is excellent for the quality; the leather is really nice and the heel looks like it will last, unlike fake stacked wood heels. My only hesitation is that the heel is higher than I realized, nor is there any traction on the soles. Not comfortable for long periods of time.
This boot is great with casual dresses, leggings or worn over skinny jeans. The shaft is wider than most dress boots from knee to ankle. As it is a pull-on style, I don’t think it is intended to fit snug to the leg. The heel is the perfect height/width, the toe shape is very flattering and the grey leather is lovely. I suspect it will look even better as it breaks in a little.
I was so relieved when I opened the box and the color of these boots were exactly what I hoped for. They look and feel great! I just slipped them on and after very little adjustment, I was off and running. I’m very tall so it was nice that the boot shaft nearly came to my knee. These will be worn all season and I am very seriously considering getting another color.
These shoes look great and are very stylish but the shaft is just too wide so I had to send them back. I don’t have skinny calves so I was surprised they did not fit. I agree with the other comment–please create this same shoe with a narrow shaft.
This boot was everything I was looking for…tall, stacked heel, roundish toe, no embellishment…but when it arrived, the boot shaft make me look like I was standing in a bucket. I would like DV to do another run of the ‘Wendy’ boot, which has a narrower shaft.
Love these boots, they are so chic and are pretty comfortable as well. I have a wide calf and these fit very well, can even tuck in skinny jeans. These will definitely be my go-to for nights out, not sure if I’ll wear them to the office. The heel is high enough that they probably won’t be that comfy for extended wear. But they look fabulous!

I’ve been searching for a cute, but comfortable boot this season and these hit the mark. Although the heel was higher than I was looking for they are still comfortable and I can tuck my skinny jeans into them.
I got these after having to reject a pair of Fluevog boots for having too big of a calf. I’m on the skinnier side of athletic legs (lol, cyclist) so if you’ve got curvy legs pass these up.I need a form-fitting heel and I’ve got a wide toebox, so needless to say I’m picky about fit. I refuse to buy shoes that are uncomfortable, and I’ve sent back plenty in my time, but these feel great. Very true to size. They were obviously made with a shorter leg in mind (I’m 5’9″ and am all leg) but these will go great with some thin socks methinks. The plastic heel sole is a bit chintzy for a $200 boot, go get this replaced for ultimate grip. The leather seems fragile, but we’ll see how it wears over time.
I bought theses boots for a vacation and the first day I had them I walked all over Chicago with no pain what-so-ever! Now that I am back from vacation they allow me to walk all over Seattle with hills everywhere you look with no pain either! I LOVE THEM! They are very unique looking and in no way look like cheap leather. It seems as if they belong somewhere in an Anthropologie catalog. Not only are they comfortable, they have made me the topic of conversation all over the place being the receiver of compliments from strangers at least once every time I wear them. A plus for me is that the fitting on the calf is more narrow so if you have trouble with too much room in the calf, these boots are the perfect fix. If you calves are bigger though, they may not be the best option. I am able to fit most skinny jeans tucked in to them, but they would not allow for a boot cut to be folded into them.
I saw someone wearing these and inquired about them. I ordered them that day and received them within a day or two. They are gorgeous and I get many compliments. They go with everything and they look designer. Great buy!

The shoe fits perfectly except for the fact that I cannot zip it up all the way. The fit says approximately 15 inches, but its more like 14 inches without socks. Make sure to measure your calf size before ordering.
Decent for price. So far I really like this boot. Everyone has different feet, but I think they fit true to the advertised size. I’m usually a 9.5W and the 9.5 fits quite well. The boot shaft was a little narrow at first, but as I mentioned my feet are a wide. I am not sure how warm the boots are yet, but I’m optimistic.

The shape of the foot and the heel make this a very sexy looking boot. The leather was also of a good quality but, the shaft would only be a good fit for a woman with a very full legs. My calves are 14 inches around and there was at least two extra inches of leather on the size 9.5. If I would have known someplace where I could get the boot shafts altered I would definitely have kept this gorgeous pair of boots! I cannot really speak to their comfort since I only had them on for a minute but, I think that they would have been ok.
I have large calves so I always have a problem finding boots that fit properly without slouching. These boots are wide enough in the calf and the leather is of good quality. I would not recommend for women with smaller calves.
These boots are hot! Surprisingly they are very comfortable, in fact they are kind of cushiony and the leather is buttery soft. I went dancing in them and my feet were not howling at the end of the night. They are sexy but not so much so that they can’t be worn to work. A+ Nine West!
love love LOVE these boots. They fit me perfectly at the calf (which might be too big for some, I have curvy dancer calves), and are super comfortable for walking around in all day! I’m not doing the Michael Jackson “Thriller-Walk” at the end of the day because of foot pain, like I have in so many other boots. Super sexy, but not skanky boots! i am that girl who swore she would never own a pair of ugg boots, because i thought they were hideous and obscenely expensive. after spending last fall/ winter with frozen toes at football games and walking to class, i caved. i agree with everyone who’s said they run large. i usually wear a 9.5 street shoe, but the 8 fits fine. my toes don’t rub or anything. i love that the style is so versatile; you can tie it high and wear it like a normal calf boot or tie is lower and let it be open on the sides. however, with this boot, you get what you pay for. i’ve definitely seen worse quality. the thing that bothers me most is the wool on the inside. it pills and sheds and sticks to my pants, and i don’t think it looks all that great. if you have the money i’d probably pay the extra and get the “hipper” instead; they seem to be better made.

Love these boots way more than uggs, the tie up detail makes all the difference, not only does it add a nice touch looks wise, but it’s also great for those of us with bigger calves

Had to go half a size up, I love this boot- but had to send back the 6.5 because it was way too tight- I went half a size up to a 7 and there is more room for my toes and the boot shaft is not as tight too.

This is a sweet boot at a terrific price, but I couldn’t zip up at the top of the calf and the shoe itself felt about 1/2 too small. If your foot is between 7 and 7.5 and your calf closer to 14″ than 15″, try it.

These shoes are great for the style, price, and fit. I have been looking for affordable, good quality, low wedge boots for a long time, so I was ecstatic when I found these! They fit really well, and I like the adjustable buckle on the sides which allows them to be flexible for different calf sizes. My only gripe is that sometimes they hurt the tops of my toes when I’m walking for longer periods of time, but overall, they are very comfortable.
Very comfy for long walks
I think this boot is nice, but a bit expensive. I tried the cognac color and didn’t like the leather. I ordered the grey suede and at first it seemed to have discoloration issues but it might be the way the suede is brushed. I will have to play with it. I think it’s best to wait until these go on sale as I am sure they will.

My only complaint has nothing to do with the boot itself. When I went out over the weekend, I noticed three other women wearing the exact same boot. Not a big deal, but if you prefer something a little more unique, this is not the boot for you.

I think the boot has a simple, classic style. Some people may think the leather is thin and looks a little cheap, but I thought it was fine. There were a half size too small for me or I would have kept them.

I finally bought these boots in tan color after obsessing over them for a long time. Like most Steve Madden shoes, I had to order 1/2 size up, which wasn’t surprising since I already know that SM shoes tend to run small. They fit very comfortably. Easy to put on, despite the lack of zipper. I wore them with my skinny jeans tucked in, and they are super comfy and look very stylish. People on the street asked me where I’ve gotten them several times. I walked around in them, and my feet only start hurting toward the very end of the day (probably after 6 hours of walking around!!). Love them!!
Im not quite sure why people are giving these boots negative marks because they are fabulous. I read many people complaining that they slouch. Well…I am able to wear mine either straight up or wear them slouchy. Im not sure why other people are having problems with figuring this out. There is a buckle on the side so you can adjust to make them fitted or slouchy. I get compliments from these boots EVERY time I wear them. They are worth the price. My leather looks great and I’ve had them for months. They don’t look cheap and both the black and the cognac are the perfect shade. I originally bought the boot by Loeffler Randall which are twice as much. I ended up returning them after I tried these on. I thought these were more comfortable, 1/2 the price and IDENTICAL to the originals. LOVE THEM! If I were you I would get them in both colors since they are on sale!

the leather quality is really great and the measurements are accurate. i’m 5’2″ and usually wear a size 7, but the 6.5 fits perfectly and hits about an inch below my knee. it’s tight-fitting, but there’s enough room to tuck a pair of skinny jeans in them. i love that the soles have enough friction to prevent slipping. these boots are the perfect simple yet classy riding boot!
